Last Minute Valentine - It's never too late to surprise the one you love

In our world it seems that everything gets done at the last minute, I guess we thrive under pressure.  The same holds true for Valentine's Day.  Those of you that have prepared are probably all set with a gorgeous gift or fabulous plans for a romantic night in or relaxing meal out.  Not us!  We are scrambling to put something together for the loves in our lives.  We've come up with a few ideas that you can throw together in just a few minutes from things you might already have at home.  Let's introduce the couples first:

(FYI - Photos below were taken from other's websites, if you wish to visit their website, click the photo.  This is how we found our last minute ideas, isn't the web wonderful!)

Julie and Randy (Mom and Dad) have been married for 30 years.  They are spending the day at a farm marketing class.  This is dedication folks!  We sent her home yesterday with an idea to jazz up dad's favorite drink.  We'll see if she actually does it...click the picture for more details if you'd like to do this for your honey.

Holly and Trent have been married for 5 years.  They have decided to stay home and spend time with the love of their lives, Parker (2 years old).  Holly is going to surprise Trent with some homemade heart shaped cookies.  It's SUPER easy if you have premade dough, but you can use any cookie recipe to make these special cookies.  Holly premakes her "secret-not-so-secret" chocolate chip cookie dough, ball it, and freeze it.  All she had to do was thaw it and press into a heart cookie cutter before baking.  **This cookie recipe is shared in a future post HERE.**

She is also going to get Parker in on the fun and make their families favorite meal....of course, in the shape of a heart.

Joe and I (Katie) have been dating for three months.  Since this is our first Valentine's Day together we are doing something really special....but I don't know what it is.  Joe is surprising me! :)  I wasn't quite sure what to get him, but then I found this cute idea.  He is always drinking Mountain Dew at work (yes, I try to get through to him how bad this it for him, but you know guys) and Holly is giving me some of her heart shaped cookies (cause I do not bake).

We hope that you find these ideas helpful for a last minute Valentine gift.  It's not how much money you spend or how extravagant the gift is....in life it's important to remember that it's the little things that count.
